Events in Bhutan largely centers round the religious festivals that are celebrated there. The festivals in Bhutan may have the same theme but each, has there own unique feature embedded in it. Beauty pageant and trade fairs are other events that take place. Bhutan events are celebrated all throughout the year.
The Bhutanese people take an active participation whenever any events are celebrated. Events in Bhutan are celebrated with great enthusiasm and vigor. Bhutan events are colorful and they altogether render an impressive insight into the Buddhist philosophy. They will inevitably take you on a journey to a better and deeper understanding of the Bhutan art and culture.
The main events celebrated in Bhutan are:
1)Festivals:
Tshechu: One of the main events celebrated in Bhutan in an elaborate fashion is the Tshechu. It is basically the mask dance that augments the look of this event. It is a religious festival which is held every year in all the districts. Dedicated to Guru Rimpoche it is supposed to be the largest festival in Bhutan.
Paro festival: The sequence of the dance step varies from that of Tschechu, though the dance movement is somewhat similar to it. The Paro festival sparks the mysterious culture of the past allowing us to explore Bhutan in all aspects. Again, the mask dance is the main highlight here.
Thimpu festival: Yet another of the many Bhutan events is the Thimpu. People indulge in feasting, dancing and merry making.

Under the banner of Bhutan Entertainment the Bhutan beauty pageant is organized. Their main aim is to advance themselves in the fashion industry providing at the same time support to the young women in Bhutan. Although this show was recently started yet the response it received was commendable. Bhutanese women are today getting the chance to represent their country at the international level, exposing their profound culture and age old traditional costumes to the world.
3) Trade fairs in Bhutan:
Bhutan events also comprises of Trade fairs. An important trade fair organized here is the SAARC. It is today held annually and is organized by the Bhutan Chamber of commerce and industry. Other than this there are book fairs that are held in Thimphu.
